The hottest sporting event, the UFC Fight Night 170 that is taking place in Brasilia, Brazil, this Saturday is the sporting event to watch for every sport lover.

Both the lightweights Kevin Lee and Charles Oliveira are looking for a signature win that will push them further up the UFC ranking. Lee is a -148 favorite, keeping Oliveira +119 behind. It is as per the DraftKings Sportsbook.

UFC will be held behind Closed Doors

The sporting event will now be closed to public by the UFC. The local officials have handed over the orders to UFC, because of the Corona Virus Pandemic. But the fighters will fight for a win in a largely empty arena.

Dana White, President of UFC informs that only the essential staff and the television crew will be allowed inside the stadium.

Oliveira, 28-8, has been with the UFC for about ten years. He has long been one of the top lightweight talents. He had a good start but got defeated by every notable name. It slowed his ascent to the top.

But Oliveira is now riding a six-fight winning streak, with his last two wins over Nik Lentz and Jared Gordon coming by early stoppage. Now, the No. 13 lightweight contender has a chance to break into the elite ranks of one of the UFC’s toughest divisions.

“I’m not sure how rankings work,” Oliveira told MMA Junkie. “In truth, I just want to keep winning so I can reach my goal. My eventual goal is to be the UFC champion. My focus now is only on Kevin Lee.”

Lee has been declared overweight for fight against Oliveira

Lee, 18-5 has come into the fight knowing fully well that he will not be able to hold on all his money. He came in at 158.5 pounds at the weigh in. It is 2.5 pounds above the maximum limit allowed for a non title lightweight fight. Lee has an hour to drop the weight but the Brazilian Commission thought otherwise. It said that it would not be healthy for Lee.

The fight is on but Lee has to surrender 20 percent of his purse to Oliveira.

Lee had a talk with Ariel Helwani of ESPN. He said it is important for the figfht to continue, even after most of the sports world has shut down because of the Corona virus outbreak.

Lee said” It is important that we show we are not going to stop living. It is in front of empty seats. That is cool with me. It honestly makes the fight bigger. Especially with the NBA shutdowns, this is going to be one of the most watched fights ever. It’s gonna be like old school martial art days, you just gonna hear the punches and kicks, and when I hit Oliveira, the whole world is going to feel it.

The co-main event also offers an intriguing matchup. Walter weight contenders Gilbert Burns, 17-3, and Demian Maia, 28-9, have a face off. It can be the final fight in Maia’s career. This Brazilian jiu-jiu master, who is 42 years old is currently on a three fights winning streak. But, Burns, -190, is still a hot favorite over Maia, +151.
